Simon Stephen’s The Curious Incident of the Dog and the Night Time features a 15-year-old boy named Christopher who has a sharp mind for mathematics, but is ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. Christopher keeps to himself, does not care to be touched, and has an extreme distrust of strangers. One night, Christopher stumbles upon the neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who was speared by a garden fork. Suddenly, Christopher is enamored by the mystery and becomes determined to solve the crime by recording facts. After his father forbids him from further investigation, Christopher goes on a journey that upturns his world.
