Guest Conductor Erik Ochsner joins Your Youngstown Symphony for a unique concert that blends selections from Ludwig van Beethoven & Luigi Cherubini. Beethoven & Cherubini were admirers of one another. This concert allows us to hear how these two contemporaries admired and yet diverged from one another. Cherubini stayed in the truly Classical period, while Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 is considered to be one of the earlier symphonies of the Romantic period. In addition to Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, the concert will also feature the Overture from Cherubini's L'hôtellerie portugaise (The Portuguese Inn) as well as his Symphony in D Major.
