EVENT INFORMATION
La traviata is a romantic tragedy opera in three acts by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, which premiered in 1853. The libretto was written by Francesco Maria Piave, based on the play La Dame aux camélias by Alexandre Dumas fils, which itself was adapted from Dumas’ novel of the same name.

The title translates to "The Fallen Woman" and tells the story of Violetta Valéry, a Parisian courtesan who falls in love with a young nobleman named Alfredo and tries to leave her life behind to find true love. The opera explores themes of love, jealousy, loyalty, hatred, and the hypocrisy of upper-class society.

Ticket prices range from $32 - $82, including processing fees. Discounted Student rush tickets will be available (with ID) at the door sixty minutes prior to curtain.
